City Council Files Guide
What Are Council Files?

Council Files are the official legislative records of the Los Angeles City Council. Each file tracks a specific matter — ordinances, motions, resolutions, and communications — as it moves through committees and council.

How Sync Works

Data is automatically synced from the City Clerk's PrimeGov system. The sync runs once every 24 hours when you visit this page, pulling in new and updated council files.

You can also manually trigger a sync using the refresh button.

Adding to Agendas

Sign in to link council files to your committee agendas. When a council file is relevant to your NC, you can add it as an agenda item and optionally file a Community Impact Statement (CIS) on it.

Community Impact Statements

A CIS is your NC's official position on a City Council matter. Link a council file to an agenda item, discuss and vote at your meeting, then generate the CIS from the agenda editor.
